Reading hunting poems is not for everyone I get that.

Listening to this song brings me back to rattling in a big 12 pointer in the middle of the afternoon in early November back in 2009.

Deer season is here, and like any activity, a good playlist is necessary to get you in the mood and stir the visions of big bucks.

For many people, hunting deer during the firearms season is just as much about renewing friendships and a connection with nature as it is about pulling the trigger. The constant battle between the love of hunting and the love of a woman is something all hunters experience.

What about other types of music? It does seem that hunting and country music go hand in hand.

BUT... we all spend time in nature’s wilderness, we know the joy of a crisp clear morning, we know the excitement when a stick cracks, the thrill of sighting that big buck. November is the month we hunters look forward to all year long. Technically it’s not a song about deer hunting, or hunting at all, but I’ll make an exception.
